To have a healthy well-being one should have a protective and supportive musculoskeletal system as it enhances an individual’s life by allowing them to walk, run, play sport and move about liberally and effortlessly.
Our life score will be high in quality only if our body permits us to move freely and allow us to do activities that we desire to do. However for certain individuals, this life score become low on physical measures due to arthropathies and this issue is a concern with the joints. It is so marvellous, when we look into the working of the human system as its intricate structure made up of bones, muscles, cartilage, tendons, ligaments, joints and different connective tissues which together plays a vital role in providing support and stability in facilitating movement in human body.
For any activity in the human body, for instance if a person wants to move his arm, then the signal is passed on to the muscle to do the task. If the muscle or the bone are not in good condition, then the movement of the arm becomes challenging. Every part are interlinked where the signal is sent to the muscle to activate and the bone moves the activated muscle with the help of a healthy joint which is composed of tendons, ligaments and muscle.
We have different types of joints in the human body, like the ones that is rigid and does not move the skull bone, the movable joints found in the shoulders, knees and hip. When these joints rub against each other, the tissue that covers on top called the Cartilages helps the bones to slide along against each other. If the cartilages are not healthy, it will result in joint disorder called Arthropathy. When inflammation occurs in the joints, it disables a person and this is the leading disease found among the people older than 50 years. Osteoarthritis is also another common kind of arthritis, due to degenerative bone disease. So to have a healthy musculoskeletal system, all these parts of the human body have to be healthy and here are the few common practices that can help an individual maintain a healthy quality life.
- Be Active
To have a healthy joint, one should have an active physical life, that is, a person who exercises regularly is found to have a healthy joint even when he/she are of age. Physical exercise could be tiring and painful, however if it becomes a daily routine, one can have a flexible joint and strengthen muscle and help stabilize the move.
2. Avoid Instant Reflexes
Although physical activity is good for your joints but overextending it in certain movement like instant reflexes like twisting, rapid direction changes can cause injuries to your joints. It is always good to be quite cautious in every movement to avoid joint trauma.
3. Eat Healthy
Having a healthy food habit is good for your joint’s health. Such diet helps in protecting your bones, muscles and cartilage. Iron, Calcium, magnesium, Vitamin A, C and K are found in dark leafy greens, which strengthens the joints. Lean proteins like Turkey are good for our cartilages and muscles. Antioxidants like potassium, calcium, thiamine, niacin, magnesium, copper, phosphorus and all phytonutrients found in citrus fruits, fight against the oxidation in the body, saving our joints from inflammation.
4. Shed Weight and Be Fit
Being Over-weight is not a healthy body condition for healthy joints because too much of pressure and weight on the joints, stresses the joints leading to severe joint pain. To avoid this painful lifestyle, it’s better to shed weight and improve joint health.
